Create the Future You've Always Wanted Through Visualization
Create the future you have always dreamed of with powerful visualization. Learn how to do it here.
Daydreaming is an art form. Children know it instinctively and believe that they can achieve anything on which they concentrate long enough. As adults, we forget the power of daydreaming, of letting loose and allowing our minds to create limitless possibilities for our lives. We let life and responsibilities interfere with our hopes for our future selves, forgetting the inventions, creations, and accomplishments of which we have always dreamed. We allow “someday” to be pushed so far out of our minds that we no longer believe we can achieve our long-cherished dreams.
Daydreaming is defined as “a dreamlike musing or fantasy while awake, especially of the fulfillment of wishes or hopes.” Without the “fulfillment of wishes or hopes,” life has little meaning. Instead, we drudge through life assuming that in the future we will have time for ourselves, our goals, and our self-creation.
The problem is that we’re caught between our daydreams and daily responsibilities. We’ve left our long-held wishes behind, allowing ourselves to forget that life should be a fulfilling journey, not a downcast trudge. We’ve postponed our “someday” to our retirement, chained instead to our daily responsibilities and our laundry list of things we must do. That’s life; there’s always something we’re supposed to be doing. And so we’re stuck going through the daily motions of life without spending time realizing the dreams that once made life seem so fulfilling.
It is in these seemingly aimless daily motions that creative visualization and meditation offer an alternative. By focusing on our best selves, allowing our imaginations free reign and following those forgotten daydreams, we can begin a journey of fulfillment and self-actualization. It’s time to live up to our potential with the powerful visual tools at our disposal.
Creative visualization and meditation are closely linked disciplines leading to a freer self. Creative visualization is simply about setting our minds free, allowing ourselves the luxury of daydreams and relaxation. By allowing our imaginations to run wild run wild, setting us on a course of action we might never have taken, we attract those things that our hearts truly desire, whatever they may be. Tied to the energetic freedom of creative visualization is its calmer cousin, meditation. Meditation allows us to reach a dreamlike state by relaxing our minds and slowing our brain frequencies. Together, creative visualization and meditation allow us to focus on a life of fulfillment, first created in our minds and then realized in our physical lives.
In her book Creative Visualization, Shakti Gawain discusses the steps of creating anything you would like to manifest in your life. The process is a simple one, yet one that leads to happiness, joy and the knowledge that we’re living life on our own terms. The process is as follows:
Set Your Goal
Create a Clear Idea or Picture
Focus on it Often
Give It Positive Energy
