
8 Post Workout Stretches for Full Body
You’ve just completed a workout - kudos to you! Now’s the time for a quick stretch to wind down before you hit the shower. Stretching after your workout helps prevent your muscles from getting sore. Do these stretches to relax your whole body after your next workout. And don’t forget to hydrate before and after your workout!
Legs

Stretch your calves by standing in a still lunge position, one time on each side for 30 seconds. After, point and flex your feet to really relax your calf muscles.

Dancers pose will help your thighs loosen up after a tough workout. Stand straight and bring your foot to your butt, holding it there with one hand. Stretch your other arm out and lean forward. Repeat on the other side.

Butterfly pose is perfect for your inner thighs. Sit with your feet put together as close to your body as possible, without hurting yourself. Relax in this stretch for a few seconds and breathe deeply.
Core

The cobra pose will open your chest and back abs. Lay on your stomach and raise up on your hands, chest to the sky. Hold this for a few seconds.

The cat and cow is also a great stretch for your core. On your hands and knees, raise your back and curl in, and hold the position. Then push your abs towards the ground and raise your head up.
Arms

This stretch is simple but effective. Bring one arm across your chest and hold. Repeat on the other side.

Alternate between: holding your hands together over your head, behind your back, and in front of your chest.

Reach your hand behind your head, bent at the elbow. When your elbow is level with your head, gently push your elbow down with your other hand. Be safe and do not push yourself too hard. Repeat on the other side.
