How To: Get Abs Without Working Out!
Ok, we know what you’re thinking: “This is impossible,” and “Can it really be true?” To get abs without working out is not impossible, and yes we will tell you how. Granted, you will not see a cut and defined 8-pack (this you can really only get through diet and exercise), but you will see your tummy getting more flat, and it will reveal your abs, especially if you are working on them at the gym. So are you ready?
Sitting up straight not only makes you look thinner, but it engages your abs and therefore tones your stomach muscles. Put a sticky note on your desktop as a reminder, and without much conscious effort you can really make a difference in that washboard.
It may sound counterintuitive, but drinking more water or tea will help rid your body of water weight it’s holding onto. Your body can store up to 4 extra pounds of water weight if it feels like it’s dehydrated. Aim for six 8oz glasses of water or tea every day. So pinkies up and trousers down!
Speaking of Trousers Down…
It may be embarrassing to talk about it, but it’s very important to go to the bathroom every day. If you don’t, or ignore the urge to, it can lead to constipation and bloating. Along with drinking lots of fluids, try adding more fiber to your diet, doing light cardio, and setting aside a specific time every day as a part of your routine.
It’s important to eat a well-rounded diet, including healthy fats, protein, and carbs. But it is equally important to enjoy your meal! Take the time to properly chew each bite and enjoy the taste of what you’re eating. Eating quickly can cause you to swallow more air, and un-chewed food causes your intestines to work harder to digest it, which both cause more gas and bloating.
Probiotics are good bacteria that live in your intestine and help you digest food. Eat a daily source of probiotics, such as Greek yogurt, fortified soy yogurt, or take a supplement with at least 50mg of probiotics. (Look for the strains called acidophilus and bifidobacterium.)
Just a 30-minute walk each day can help rev up your metabolism and trim your tummy. This is the easiest way to tone your abs while working out. It requires less effort than running, it’s enjoyable, and you can do it with anyone, and anywhere.
Stop Blowing Bubbles
Chewing gum actually causes you to swallow little bits of air, which lead to stomach bloat. So instead of a stick of spearmint, reach for an Altoid.
Mom Was Right – Take Your Vitamins!
Extra estrogen in the body is retained in your waistline. Taking a daily vitamin B-complex and vitamin D supplement has been shown to excrete the hormone and thereby rid your belly of excess fat.
Stress causes your body to release cortisol, which is a fat-storing hormone leading to mid-section fat. Take 20 minutes every day to practice deep breathing and meditation, which can help you not only shed some pounds but increase concentration as well. It doesn’t have to be all at once, you can do 10 minutes in the morning and 10 minutes before bed.
