4 Colorful Detox Smoothies to Help You Cleanse Your Body
Are you planning to have your detox session this week? A detox is important for your body to refresh and rejuvenate. Detox smoothies are filled with antioxidants and various vitamins and minerals that are essential to the body. Antioxidants offer many health benefits from weight loss and restoring the balance of your body’s systems to preventing chronic diseases such as cancer and heart disease.

1. Ginger Orange Smoothie
1 banana, peeled, chopped and frozen
½ cup of mango slices, frozen
¼ cup of ginger, peeled and minced
¼ cup of orange juice
¼ cup of water
4-5 ice cubes
Combine the ingredients into a blender. Blend until smooth and creamy. Enjoy!
2. Belly Soother
1 cup of papaya
½ lime, juiced
1 cup of coconut kefir, coconut yogurt or cultured coconut milk
1 tablespoon of raw honey
Combine all the ingredients into the blend. Makes 1-2 servings.
3. The Sicilian
2 red bell peppers
3 large tomatoes
1 cup of loosely packed spinach
4 stalks of celery
1 cup of watercress
1 red jalapeño, seeded
4 cloves of garlic, peeled
Wash and prep all ingredients. Cut the carrots, tomatoes, red bell pepper and celery into smaller pieces. Juice all ingredients.
Celery contains phthalide, a phytochemical that helps the heart by relaxing the muscles of the arteries. This helps to lower blood pressure.
4. Extreme Detox Smoothie
½ carrot, peeled
½ cup broccoli florets, steamed
1 cup purified water
Chop the ingredients into smaller pieces. Place them into the blender. Puree until smooth.
