Hearty Oatmeal Recipe
The weather is getting cooler, which means it’s soup and sweater weather! And in the morning, cold cereal doesn’t cut it anymore. To warm up, our bodies are craving hot drinks and hot meals, so drop the cereal box and reach for some oatmeal instead. Oatmeal is a really healthy grain. You may have seen a heart on some oatmeal boxes that indicate it is a heart-healthy food by the American Heart Association, but it is also a tummy-healthy food! For those with gluten allergies or sensitivity, oatmeal will not cause any reaction as it is a completely different grain than wheat. It also has fiber to aid digestion, protein to help keep you full, and iron and manganese for healthy blood cells. So break out a small pot and some oatmeal and let’s get cooking!
-½ cup of rolled or old fashioned dry oats
-1 cup of water
-½ Tbsp of honey
-1 Tbsp of flax seeds
-½ cup of raspberries
In a pot, throw in ½ cup of rolled oats and 1 cup of water on medium heat.
